Pest Control in California City, CA

California City is a Kern County city with a lot of vacant desert between houses. That open ground is why a property at the edge of a block sees mice, rats, and spiders that a tighter neighborhood might not. The general visit is still $60. There is no trip charge for the drive, and no startup fee.

Fall and winter are when those rodents move toward the house. We inspect, trap, and seal the entry points, and we quote that work on site. Preventative bait stations are $160 plus $20 a month if you want four tamper-resistant stations on the perimeter after the inspection.

Well houses, sheds and garages are treated on the same visit at no extra charge.

Deer mice are the main hantavirus carriers in California. Cases are rare, and the cleanup steps are ordinary care, not an emergency. Ventilate the closed room first. Do not sweep droppings dry, and do not vacuum them dry. No residential rodenticide baits are registered for deer mice, so the useful work is traps and exclusion, not a bait tossed in the garage.

The calm, practical write-up we point people to is UC ANR’s article on hantavirus. A valley-specific trapping walkthrough is on mice and rat control for desert properties.

California City has a mix of owner-occupied homes and rentals. Landlords can request a landlord inspection: a written report, with treatment quoted only if you want it. Tenants and owners dealing with German cockroaches can book the $200 plan, three visits spaced one week apart, with a prep guide after booking. The prep details are in the German roach control guide.

Many residents work at Edwards AFB or for employers nearby. Weekend morning appointments available. Ask for that window when you book.

Shops that need a written service report can start on the commercial pest control page. Compare the $60 home price on the pest control cost page.
